English Language Learners in the Classroom
What type of meaningful and productive assignments can teachers give to ELLs in a classroom while the rest of the class is working on a particular prompt or assignment that the ELL may not be able to participate in? Without being able to devote your whole day working one-on-one with these students, how can you integrate them into everyday assignments? For example, there is a student in my class who speaks English fluently but is only in the beginning stages of learning how to read and write. Unfortunately, many of the projects given to him at this point have been meaningless to him...anyone have any ideas?
